Tour 37 PROGRAMME OF THE ARCHEOLOGY TOUR TO UKRAINE 03.06 - 19.06.2002 Day 1 - Arrival in Kiev. Accommodation "President Hotel Kievskiy" Day 3 - Breakfast. Visit the historic secret of 10 cent Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra with the museums on its territory. Lunch at the "Tete-a-Tete" restaurant. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 4 - Breakfast. Visit the Ukraine Historic Museum, the Museum of the Ukraine etnograthy and arts, St.Andrew Church of 18 cent.. Lunch at the city restaurant. Free ime. Evening visit the Kiev Opera House. Day 5 - Breakfast. Boat sightseeing Kiev. Lunch at the local restaurant. Free time. Dinner independently. Bus transfer to the railway station, departure for Odessa. Day 6 - Arrival in Odessa. Bus transfer and accommodation the hotel "Londonskaya" (****). Breakfast. Bus sightseeing. Lunch at the local restaurant. Independent visit the museum of archaeology. Evening visit the Odessa Opera House. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 7 - Breakfast. Bus transfer to Belgorod-Dnestrovskiy one of the oldest Ukraine towns founded by Greeks in 5 cent. B.C. Visit the fortress and excavations of the ancient town which continue to take place up to now. Lunch at the local restaurant. Visit the winery with wine tasting. Return to Odessa. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 8 - Breakfast. Bus transfer to Parutino (the former town-state Olviya founded in 6 cent. B.C. by Greeks and now it is an archaeological secret not far from Nikolaev). The antique history of this town is subdivided into two periods: Greek anf Roma. The systimatic archaeological excavations took place since 1900. Visit the antique town with excavations. Lunch at the local restaurant. Return to Odessa. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 9 - Breakfast. Free time with rest on the beach of the Black Sea. Cruise by catamaran. Lunch on board the catamaran or in the city restaurant. Departure for Simpheropol by the train N 650 "Tavriya". Dinner at the train restaurant. Day 10 - Arrival to Simpheropol. Breakfast in Mac.Donnald's. Bus transfer to the enverons with visits the ruins of Neapol Skiphskiy (3 cent. A.D.), climbing the forest hills along the mountain river with visit the Kizil-Koba caves and excavations . Bus transfer for lunch at the local restaurant and further transfer to Feodosiya with a stop at Sudak famouse from the Gerodot's period as Kimmeriya. Accommodation the Feodosiya hotel "Lidiya" (***). Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 11 - Breakfast. Bus transfer to Kerch with visits the historic regions of the town. Climb the Mitridat mountain, visit the excavations of the ancient town Pantikapeya (Kerch is the most ancient town of Ukraine, one year younger than Roma with a long and exciting history connected with Juliy Cezar and Mitridat). Visits the Meddle Age temple and History-archaeological museum, the oldest in the country. Lunch at the local restaurant. Continue sightseeing with visit the Tzar burial mound - the burial-vault of one of the Bosphor's tzars of the 4 cent. Day 12 - Breakfast, sightseeing Feodosiya across the beach with visits the remains of the Genuess fortress with towles and other places. Founded in the 6 cent. B.C. by Greeks in the Middle Ages Feodosiya became a part of the Vospor kindom and received the name Kafu, later it was the capital of the Crimea Hanat and the mane centre of the slave market. The traces of the town history can be found there until now. Day 13 - Breakfast. Sightseeing the South Crimea along the beach of the Black Sea with visits the Swallow Nest, the excavations of the ancient Greek fortification of 1-3 cent, A.D. Kharax. Transfer to the Livadia Palace. Lunch at the Tsar Cuisin restaurant, visit the historic palace, the place of the Yalta conference in February 1945. Day 14 - Breakfast. Bus transfer to Sevastopol. Sightseeing the town centre with visits Grafskaya landing pier, Primorskiy boulevard and etc. Cruise by boat in the Sevastopol coast. Lunch at the restaurant. Day 15 - Breakfast. Excursion to the ruins of the Middle Age cave town Mangup-Kale. Climbing to the hill and excursion inside the town and fortress Mangup, the most unique cave town of Crimea. Each season the archaeological excavations continue to take place. Lunch at the local restaurant at the Baidarskiy Pass, Visit the valley. Return to Yalta. Day 16 - Breakfast. Transfer to Bakhchisaray with visit the cave town Chufut Cale, one of the 14 cave towns of the Middle Age in Crimea. Day 17 - Arrival in Kiev. Breakfast at the local restaurant. Transfer to airport. End of the tour. |
