HORSE - BACK RIDING IN THE CRIMEA MOUNTING

Day 1
Saturday - 21.40 arrival to Simpheropol. Bus transfer to Crimea mountain. Arrival to rancho in the village of Solnechnoer. Accommodation in cottages.

Day 2
Sunday - After breakfast horse-back riding to the mountain lake (15 km). Picnic, fishing. Return to rancho. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 3
Monday - Breakfast. Horse back riding in the Sokolinoer village (the former hunting area of the prince Yusupov) in the Boljshoy Conyon of Crimea. It is a picturesque ravine with a rough mountain river steaming along the stone founded bottom. Horse- back riding to the Silver String water fall and to the Yusupov lakes. Lunch packs. Continue horse-back riding (30 km). Return to rencho. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 4
Tuesday - After breakfast the horse-back riding across the Visockoer and Bashtanovka villages to the cave monastery Kachy-Kalion founded by Bizanty monks (8-9 cent. a.c.). Visit to the multi level caves, grottos, st.current. Lunch packs. This itinerary is 30 km long. Return to rencho. Dinner.Overnight.

Day 5
Wednesday – After breakfast the horse-back riding across the Bogatoer Ushelier village to the Mangup Caler mountain town, the capital of the principality of the prince Feodor (founded approx. in 6 cent. by Gothics). Climb across the mountain road to the Mungoop platto 580 m above the sea level). Visit to the fortress walls and towers, the fortress citadel, underground prison. Lunch packs.
This itinerary is 30 km long. Return to rencho. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 6
Thursday – Horse-back riding across the Zelenoer village to the middle age town-fortress Eskry-Kermen (in translation from the Tatar language – "Old Fortress"). The town was founded in 6 cent and destroyed in 13 cent. by the Tatar-Mongol. Visit to the cave casemates carved inside the rock "Temple of three horsemen" with frescos of 12 cent., "the siege lake" and etc.. Lunch packs.
This itinerary is 35-40 km long. Return to rencho. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 7
Friday - Horse-back riding to the Visokoer and bashtanovka villages with stops in the picturesque places and visits to the middle-age town Kiz-Kermen and the Teps-Kermen fortres.

Visit to the cave-town – fortress Chufut-Caler, the holy place of the Crimea Karaits and Tatars, the still exist fortress walls and towels, the massive town gates, the Karaits kenases (churches), mausoleums , the ridges of the Crimea mountains. Lunch packs.
This itinerary is 35-40 km long. Return to rencho. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 8
Saturday – Bus transfer to the Simpheropol airport.

To participate in these tours it is not necessary to be a special experience. it is quite enough to have initial practice in riding. But well prepared riders can demonstrate their masterity at the well equipped hippodrome at the Doobrovitzk stud-farm or at the sport field in 20 km from the runcho in Crimea.

-The most preferable period for options - from 1 May up to 1 October.
-The group from 2 to 10 persons. The group is assisted by 1-2 local instructors and our interpretor. Medical insurence and constant radio communication with the base (in case of imergency)are provided.

WITH TWO OPTIONS

For the first time in its history Ukraine encovers to the world all the beauty and the history of our country. Exactly here one can find a lot of stud-farms which up to 1917 belonged to the famouse tzar family of Romanovs and which still keep the horse-breeding traditions of old times. Here people still remember a great contribution made by famouse American riders Ludwig Raimor, T.Mfree, F.Starr. Riding in these areas you will estimate the beauty of village nature of the East Ukraine, you will visit the famouse Doobrovskiy stud-farm (founded in 1888), you will make acquaintance with the antique history of the Crimea peninsula and the mountainouse beaches of the Black Sea.

THE TOUR PROGRAMME

OPTION 1 :

Day 1 - Group arrives to airport Borispol (20 km from Kiev). Bus transfer to Kiev. Sightseeing, visit to hippodrome. Lunch. Free time. Dinner. Overnight transfer to Poltava (1st class compartments).

Day 2 - Arrival to Poltava. Bus transfer Poltava-Mirgorod (2 hours, 95 km). Accomodation thr hotel "Yuzniy" (South)****, the rooms of de-lux class. Breakfast.Bus transfer Mirgorod-Doobravka (20 min., 18 km).Visit to Doobravka stud-farm.

INFORMATION: This stud-farm the biggest in Ukraine was founded in 1888 and belonged to the tzar family Romanovs. Back-horses (the Orel races) and the trotters (the Orel trotters) were the winners at the Chicago International Exhibition in 1893, in Paris, 1900, in London, 1912. In 1917 the stud-farm has received off-springs of the USA stallions Gay-Bingena (including Gildayz, Gumbler, Gramoteya). Since the 30s the great results have been reached in growing up the prize-winners on the base of the USA stallions Gay-Bingena and Bob-Duglas. Since 1963 to improve the Russian race the French stallions Okanuc's and Joly-Guman have been purchased. Now there are 126 stallions of the Orel race and 251 stallions of the Russian race as well as cart-horses in this stud-farm.

After this visit the taste of koumiss (fermented mare's milk). Ride training. Ride across the environ lakes (12 km). Return to the stud-farm. Bus transfer. Dinner and overnight in the "Yuzniy" hotel in Mirgorod.

Day 3 - Breakfast. Bus transfer to the Popovka village (20 min). Riding in the environs of the Kamishnyan forestry along the river Khorol. Stop for lunch and fishing. Stop at the village Khomutetz, visit to ancient caves rich of clay, aquaintance with the local poterry, there is a chance to purchase ceramics and poterry msade of horns of different animals (this handicraft is famouse here since XY-XYI century). Riding up to 30 km. Return back, dinner and overnight in the hotel "Yuzniy"

Day 4 - After breakfast bus transfer to the village Velikier Sorochintzy (30 min). Riding with stops and visits to Spaso-Preobrazenskaya church (1732), museum of Gogol.Riding up to 30 km in the picturesque places of the Gogol forestry along the river Psel. Return to Mirgorod. Dinner.Night in Hotel.

INFORMATION: Diring 2-4 days back riding the stallions of the Orel and Russian races. The saddels used in Ukraine are of "vestern" type which are usually called "kosak" or "cowboy". Lanscape - hills, forests of oaks, birches, maples and pines.

Village surroundings with interesting architecture. Rivers and lakes. Climate is soft and continental. Average temperature: May - up to 20C degree, June-August - up to 27C degree, September - up to 20C degree.Pace - trot and step.

Day 5 – 6 : Continuing Riding in Mirgorod region.Breakfast/Supper and overnight in hotel "Juzhny".

Day 7 – After breakfast,bus transfer to city of Poltava.Sightseeing.Visit churches,historical places and museum of Poltava Battle (In the summer of 1709 a tragic battle was fought near Poltava between the armies of the Sweden`s King Charles X11 against the armies of the Russian Tsar Peter 1). Lunch and supper in local Ukrainian restourant.Night transfer to Kiev by rail.

Day 8 – Arrival to Kiev. Lunch. Transfer to Airport.

OPTION 2 :

Day 1 – Arrival to Kiev.Lunch.Bus sightseeing.Overnight transfer to Crymea (Sevastopol City ) by rail.

Day 6 ( Day 2 ) - Arrival to Sevastopol. Breakfast. Bus transfer to the Crimean mountains. Bus transfers in mountains (2 hours). Arrival to a private runcho in the village Solnechnoer. Accomodation cottedge for 2 persons, there is a restaurant, sauna, shower and toilet. Telephone communication.

INFORMATION: the runcho is separated in mountains at 1000 m above sea level. There are 30 horses, mainly of Asia tarket race and and English backhorse race (very comfortable for riding). The saddles used usually of "vestern" and "sport"

types. Very impressive mountain landscape. The mountains covered with forest and brushes. The average temperature: in May - 25 C degree, June- August - up to 30 C degree,Sepptember- 25C degree. Horse riding = by step.

This day not long riding up to 15 km to the mountaine lake. Picnic, fishing. Return to runcho.

Day 7 ( Day 3 ) After breakfast riding about 20 km across the village Visokoer. the most high poit of separation for the Crimea village. The splendid view of the valley from this spot. Stops at the forest lakes. Stop at the ancient Greek settlement Lucky, visit to the church of St. Looky. Lunchr in packs.Return to runcho. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 8 ( Day 4 ) After breakfast riding along the village Visokoer and Bashtanovka up to monastery "Kachi-Kanion" founded in VIII-X century by Bysantine monks. Visit to grottos, caves, to st.current. Lunchpacks. Riding up to 40 km. Return to runch.
Dinner. Overnight.

Day 9 ( Day 5 ) After breakfast riding across the "Bogatoer Uchelier" in the cave town "Mangoop Cale" (20 km). Lunch packs. Return to runcho.

Day 10 ( Day 6 ) Riding 20 km with a stop in the capital Mangoop, the ancient Feodor's principality and in the fortress Isker-Karmen (the Turkish fortress of XIV cent.) Lunchpacks. Bus transfer to Sevastopol. Accomodation private hotel "Crimea" ***, comfortable rooms for 2 persons, swimming pool, sauna, bar, restaurant. Dinner.

Day 11 ( Day 7 ) Breakfast. Bus sightseeing town. Lunch at the local restaurant. After lunch departure by train to Kiev.

Day 12 ( Day 8 ) Arrival in Kiev. Lunch. Transfer to airport. END of the tour.
